These pictures were shot over three days in Yosemite. A number of the pictures are HDR done with Photomatix Pro (with Local Contrast added with LIghtzone aferwards). As mentioned before, I shot a lot of bracketed exposures (2/3 over and under) with the thought of using the best exposure afterwards. I had no plans for any HDR treatments. Because of the coastal (and closer) forest fires, there was a lot of haze obscuring much detail. (It was only on the day I was leaving that things cleared up somewhat.) Working with the pictures afterwards I found that using Photomatix Pro really helped the clarity. Even though the original pictures weren't optimized for HDR (5 shots would have been better than 3, a bigger f-stop difference would have helped, and a constant aperture for each burst wasn't used), I'm more that satisfied with the results.
